Making Greatness

Who are we?

Queen Anne’s Revenge is a London-based production company, specialising in film, TV and digital series.

Founded in 2012, as Trailermade Films, the company began life by making a series of award-winning short films, including the critically-acclaimed Shalom Kabul (2013). A black comedy based on the true story of the last two Jews of Afghanistan (spoiler alert: they hated each other), the film won the special prize at Fimucinema the following year.

The company’s next milestone came in 2014, when we produced our first web series – Night School, based on the international bestselling novels by CJ Daugherty. Despite being produced on a microscopic budget, it became one the most successful free-to-air web series of all time, with nearly two million views on YouTube. The series garnered press coverage from around the world – including a cover story in the Guardian, and a sell-out panel at London’s ComiCon. It was an official selection at several film festivals, including places as far afield as New York, Los Angeles, Dublin, and the prestigious Marseille Web Fest in the South of France. Night School was subsequently optioned for development as a TV series.

Whatever After

In 2018 the company began work on two major new projects. The first is the eponymously-titled feature film, Generation Revolution, a thriller set within the world of the international protest movement. The second is Whatever After, a TV series based around modern retellings of myths, legends and fairy tales. Three pilot episodes of Whatever After were completed in 2019, starring Jessica Brown Findlay (Harlots, Downton Abbey) as the narrator.

Our current slate also includes a major campaign for National Poetry Day 2020, and a popular, ongoing web series based around abandoned home movies, The Memory Project, which was developed and produced during the coronavirus lockdown. We continue to search for the best new stories, wherever we can find them, and bring them to screens of all sizes.

So that’s us. How about you?
